Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga.

In Fes Marrakech Desert Tour 4 days Early in the morning after breakfast at an already appointed time, our journey to uncover the hidden mystics of the Sahara desert begins. Our road trip starts from Fez. We will head south to Merzouga via Ifran and Midlet. This journey will give us glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Our first stop will be in Ifrane. The similarity of this city to the Alpine cities made famous as the “the Switzerland of Morocco”. French architects designed it in the 1930s. In Azrou, we will have a close look at Barbarian apes. Then we will head towards the thick wood jungle to visit some Nomads living in cave-houses, share a pot of mint tea with them, and learn more about their lifestyle and cultural heritage. The natural scenery of the Atlas compounds of lakes, high cedar forests and the white peeks of the Atlas Mountains. Lunch will be in Midlet in a local varied Restaurant. Through the Tizi n’ Talghamt Pass we will continue along the Ziz Valley to appreciate the panoramic views along the way. This valley encloses the biggest oasis all of North Africa. The welcoming Berber villages of Erfoud and Rissani will be our last stops before arriving to Merzouga to visit some fossil craft workshops. The traditional uncovered market is also part of our last stops, where hooded men and women are bargaining and trading their goods in mythical conversations as they used to do centuries ago. Upon our arrival to the edge of the Erg Chebbi dune line, we will meet the welcoming staff of our hotel. They will serve us relaxing mint tea. After a break, we will have an opportunity to winder in the surrounding sand dunes. Overnight in our cozy relaxing hotel in Merzouga.

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani

Early in the morning, we will have an opportunity to witness a fascinating show of the sunrise in the Sahara. The shadowing pink over the blue sky will take us into psychedelic experience where time surpasses space. After breakfast, our 4*4 excursion of discovering the area will start by visiting the ‘Village of the Blacks’. These community lives as a subculture lifestyle. Their origins are from sub-Sahara countries. We will enjoy their music and lifestyle. The seasoning lake of Yasmina is not far away with its immigrant bird populations. We will pay it a visit to appreciate the natural views around it. We will have tea with a nomad family in the middle of the desert. They will unveil the secrets they learned from their ancestor that enabled them to persist the harsh conditions of the Sahara. In the afternoon, we will have time to rest and lunch before riding our camels through the Erg Chebbi to appreciate the beauty of the sunset. Lunch will be in Rissani enjoying a local dish of Stuffed bread with meat, Almond, and many other local ingredients. After lunch, we will visit the Mausoleum of the founder of the current dynasty: Moulay Ali Sharif. Then we will drive back to the shore of the Sahara sand sea to meet a blue camel man. Atop his camel friends, he will carry us across the sand dunes to experience a captivating view of the sunset. Overnight will be under the Poles Stars and The Milky Way in a deep desert camp attending a party around a fire camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Boumalne Dades -Valley of Roses – Kelaa M’gouna- Skoura- Ouarzazate.

Early in the morning, our Camel man will wake us up to not miss another fascinating view of a desert sunrise. Then we will camel trek back to take breakfast in our Riad in Merzouga. Later , we will proceed to Er-Rachidia via the towns of Rissani and Erfoud. In Rissani, we will walk within the genuine Souk, a mixture of vegetables, spices and dates. In this souk, we will witness a wave of sounds smells that will tease all our sensations in a traditional scenery of hooded men and veiled women negotiating prices as they did for centuries ago. We will have lunch in Tinghir and Todra gorges; we will discover the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After a break in in the heart of the gorges, we will proceed to the Rose’s valley where we will see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. The youth in the region believe that these castles inspired Jimmy Hendrix during his trip to Morocco in the 60s; he wrote, “Castle Made of Sand”. We will stop at Kalaa M’gouna in the Roses Valley to purchase the rosewater and appreciate the heavenly like atmosphere in the region. After lunch in the Rose Valley, we will arrive in Sakura Oasis to spend our night in an attractive Riad in the midst of Skoura palm grove. For comfort purposes, this trip offers two options to spend night either in a hotel/Riad in Ouarzazate or in lovely Riad

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou- Tizi N’tichka Pass- Marrakech

Early in a blue-skied morning and after breakfast, we will proceed to Marrakesh. Our first stop will be in Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. Et Hami El Glaoui, the founder of this Kasbah, was one of the last Berber chieftains during the 19th century. UNESCO classifies it as a world heritage site. Families still live in fortified Kasbahs around it. Many movies were filmed in this attractive area like “Lawrence of Arabia”, Babel, “The Mummy “, “ Jesus of Nazareth” and many others. Then, we will stroll and cross a dried river to discover the majestic Kasbah for its authentic vibe. Then we will cross the High Atlas Mountains to enjoy the refreshing air. In Tizi Ntichka on top of the Atlas, we will have lunch in a local restaurant. Our last stop will be in Marrakesh where will have a sight on the famous square of Jamai’ ElFna.
