The UNESCO considers it as the oldest continuously operating degree-awarding university in the world. An incredible woman, Fatima al-Fihria, a Lady who had fled her country of Tunisia to the kingdom of Morocco invested all of her inherited fortune to build it. The University features fascinating Andalucian ornamental details and extremely valuable documents written on gazelle parchment.
